A year of branded hot air balloons, theme park activations, and a number of fashion show collaborations have culminated in a major win for the Emoji Company in the Best Teen or Adult Licensed Property at this year’s Licensing Awards.
The company was handed the accolade, acknowledged by Emoji’s founder Marco Huesges as ‘validation of what we have achieved to date, at an industry awards ceremony held at Grosvenor House last night.
Emoji was one of 28 others to take to the stage for an award during the course of the evening.
Markedly excited for the win, Huesges, who through Emoji now works with some 40 plus licensing partners in the UK alone, adding to a ‘solid portfolio of merchandising products, services, and events, highlighted the Teen and Adult Licensed Property category as “one of the most important licensing markets in the world.”
“Winning this year’s 2019 Licensing Award in such an important category is an honour and makes me personally feel extremely proud,” he told Licensing.biz. “It is a great validation of what we have jointly achieved to date and an honour to be recognised among a high level of successful brands within the industry.”
Huesges has gone on to credit the support of the industry and its expanding portfolio of licensees and retail partners for the win, as well as the hard work of the team around him.
The win now offers the lifestyle brand a launchpad from which to leap into 2020 plans that will start with new global apparel partnerships and the launch of Emoji-branded apparel stores, ‘symbolic of the direction and development of the brand.’
“But, for all that, Emoji remains a family brand with unrivalled potential throughout all sorts of licensing categories, for promotions of any kind, for activities and events,” continued Huesges. “This scope of application is a unique competitive advantage over other brands.
“This award demonstrates that the direction we are heading and the activities we are doing are the right ones. And there is more to come – we will stay on our path to ensure global brand popularity and to further grow the Emoji brand business in the UK and the rest of the world.
“The win is a result for the work of all of our many great partners. Thank you.”
