This summer, The Emoji Company and Sun Hung Kai Properties joined forces to launch two live activations in two of Hong Kong's biggest shopping centers. Medialink, the Emoji Company’s Hong Kong licensing agent, brokered the deal.

Emoji The Iconic Brand Sports Fiesta opened June 9 at the Landmark North mall and featured World Cup-inspired icons and more. To fete the occasion, footballers from Manchester United and other teams hosted an event. The 12-week installation also featured on-site activations, such as a training zone, photo ops and a dance troupe.

The emoji company GmbH announced  today that they purchased SABAN BRANDS trademark “emojiville” including all related assets and domain rights.

The emoji company, owner of the registered emoji ® trademark and owner of more than 450 trademarks globally has more than 230 active relationships with reputable license partners from all over the world and is primarily focusing on merchandising, promotions and loyalty programs while noumerous global corporations are using the emoji companies‘ icons and characters for their TV commercials as well as for general advertisement campaigns.

Just a week ago the emoji company announced its licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Animation (SPA) which allows Sony Pictures Animation (SPA) to use the term “emoji”  in connection with SPA’s worldwide merchandising program for SPA's upcoming comedy feature The Emoji Movie, coming to theaters August 11th, 2017.

Hamburg, Germany - emoji company GmbH and Sony Pictures Animation (SPA)  today announced that they have entered into a licensing agreement with regard to emoji company’s registered emoji® trademark. The agreement covers the use of the term “emoji” in connection with SPA’s worldwide merchandising program for SPA's upcoming comedy feature The Emoji Movie, coming to theatres August 11th, 2017.

Both parties will offer their unique sets of icons and characters and target different markets.

"We are happy to enter into this agreement with Sony Pictures," says Marco Huesges, CEO of the emoji company. "There will be no confusion in the marketplace since SPA’s products will be from their original and proprietary The Emoji Movie motion picture content while the emoji company is offering its own developed icons with the classic look & feel known from the Unicode.”
